“I Kawtkaiah Sawrkar” Programme Held in Lungsen
The second edition of the “I Kawtkaiah Sawrkar” (Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore) programme was organised today at the Lungsen BDO Complex for the residents of Lungsen and nearby villages. The event, an outreach initiative under the Lunglei District Deputy Commissioner’s Office, aims to bring various government services and welfare schemes closer to rural citizens.
During the programme, several government departments and agencies — including the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, BDO Lungsen, PHED, Power & Electricity, Health & Family Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, and local banks — set up service stalls to assist the public. Residents were able to conveniently access multiple services such as Aadhaar enrolment and correction, issuance and updating of MGNREGS job cards, opening of new bank accounts, and obtaining income, tribal and residential certificates. Awareness and registration activities related to various government schemes and health assessments were also conducted.
A total of 168 beneficiaries availed of different services during the day, making the event a significant step toward improving accessibility and ensuring efficient delivery of government benefits at the grassroots level.
