HOME MINISTER LAUNCHES OPERATION AGAINST TRAFFICKING AND USE OF DRUGS AND NARCOTICS IN MIZORAM

Home Minister Pu K. Sapdanga today launched the campaign for “Operation Against Trafficking and Use of Drugs and Narcotics in Mizoram.” Present at the programme were Excise & Narcotics Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, Home Department Secretary, IGP (Law & Order), Aizawl DC and SP, along with senior officials of the Excise & Narcotics Department and Police, as well as leaders of the Central YMA.

The Home Minister stated that the increasing spread of drugs in Mizoram has become a serious challenge. Since the widespread use of drugs is causing grave difficulties in society, the Government of Mizoram together with CYMA has resolved to take up strong measures against it.

For effective and sustained action, the Government has given due consideration and decided to launch a coordinated drive. To ensure the safety of the State from drugs, a campaign named Ruihhlo Dona Beihpui (Operation Against Trafficking and Use of Drugs and Narcotics in Mizoram) will be carried out from September to December 2025, and today, September 1, 2025, marks its formal launching programme.
