MHIP marks 52nd foundation day; Governor applauds its service
Governor General (Rtd) Vijay Kumar Singh extended greetings to Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP) on its 52nd Foundation Day, praising the apex Mizo women’s organisation for its longstanding contribution to women’s welfare and social development.
The Governor said that since its establishment on July 6, 1974, MHIP has played a vital role in protecting women’s rights, promoting legal reforms, preserving Mizo culture and advancing education, health awareness and social service across the state.
He also noted that the organisation’s Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2016 recognised its dedicated work, and expressed confidence that MHIP would continue partnering with the government and other organisations to support women and children while contributing to the vision of a developed Mizoram and Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat by 2047.
