CHIEF MINISTER CHAIRS ONLINE MEETING OF HIGH-LEVEL TASK FORCE ON NORTH EAST ECONOMIC CORRIDOR

Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma chaired the 3rd online meeting of the High-Level Task Force on the North East Economic Corridor.After his introductory remarks and words of appreciation, Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary of the Planning Department, presented a detailed summary of the key points discussed and the progress made in the meetings held by the Task Force so far.

Among the major topics deliberated were the establishment of major connectivity corridors between Bangladesh and the North Eastern States, the strengthening of the India–Myanmar–Thailand transport corridor, the development of Guwahati as a central hub with enhanced helicopter connectivity among North Eastern states, improvement of the crucial inland waterways, enhancement of railway connectivity across the region, exploration of electric train services to reduce travel costs, improvement and expansion of internet services, creation and modernization of border trade infrastructure, and initiatives for better branding and wider marketing of products from the North Eastern region, among other important proposals.

The meeting was attended by Pu Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister for DoNER, along with ministers from the member states. The participants resolved to finalize the Final Report of the Task Force soon.
